cleft possibility?

Question

Went in for my ultrasound at 19 weeks and the dr said their is a possibility of a cleft palate... has this happened to anyone else and if so did you indeed have a baby with a cleft palate??

My mom had a cleft palate and the doctors told her it will skip a generation , I was not born with it , so therefore one of my children would have it but none of mine have it and I have 3 so it's a 50/50 chance

I have not, but I have a friend who was told there MIGHT be a possibility of cleft lip/palette and the doctor was correct. 
Good news about it is that it's a very easy surgery and the healing process is fast. My friends baby doesn't look like she had any cleft after fixing it.

I'm getting this scan done this week cause baby's dad was born with a cleft palate. 
They never knew about him (I dont think it was as good as it is now 25years ago) and as far as I know hes the only one in his family to have been born with it. But it wasn't big, but enough to need reconstruction. Just relax and wait until you get another scan, but at least now you have time to prepare if it turns out to be true. (Prepare emotionally. It's not easy seeing your baby go through something like this)
