Can we talk baby monitors for a second? My SO and I just got into it because he thinks that we don't need a baby monitor. So my question is do we need a monitor. I'm not talking anything super fancy but I have looked and picked out the angelcare monitors for our registry. Our baby boy will not be sleeping with us due to us sleeping like wild animals and the fact of I do t want to break him of that habit. His room is right off ours like literally right there no hallway or anything so we were going to start off in the crib since he won't be far away. I used to baby sit a little girl and her parents had the angelcare monitors and hers would go off once a week and we would go up there and she would be face down in the mattress not breathing so we would have to scare her awake. Am I being over protective or do we REALLY need one?
