On Friday, I went to a urgent care because I had symptoms of the flu (aches, chills, stuffy nose, sore throat, etc.). The doctor confirmed I had the flu, but would not give me medicine because I was pregnant and the medicine he wanted to give me was dangerous for unborn babies. I have spent the whole weekend in bed, in hot showers, drinking water, applying Vicks rub, and just trying to make it through! My concern is now my chest feels tight, and has sharp pains. Could I have caught pneumonia? Also, is it safe for my baby that I just play a sitting duck with the flu! Like her movement is ok.. not as active, but not like completely decreased, and I have this virus in me with nothing to help but to "wait for it to pass!" Should I call my obgyn and see if she can prescribe a safe medicine that can help me get better faster?
