I'm late, but I want to share my birth story; November 9, 2016; FTM

Adriana • First Time Mom, can't wait to meet my little love Nov, 10. 2016
So it all started Nov. 8. 2016. Election day. I started having my first real contractions around 7pm. They weren't too bad, 8 to 10 min apart. So I just kept watching the elections while I bounced on my birthing ball.. now at 9pm the contractions started to get uncomfortable and were 7 min apart, so my hubby and I decided to go to bed and lay down and watch the elections there on his phone. At 12 am the contractions were 5 min apart, and these contractions were getting painful that's when I told my husband "we are going to meet our baby girl very soon" .. I wanted to stay as much as I could home through the contractions. So I got up from bed and wanted to shower before getting to the hospital, so my husband help me. But the contractions were sooo painful that I had to stop what I was doing to focus on the contraction. We got our diaper bag ready , make sure nothing was missing. And I sat down on the rocking chair a few minutes with the contractions still going 5 min apart. Then at 2 am. I told my husband ok let's go!!!. We didn't have any gas , so he stopped by the gas station, on our way to the hospital I vomited in the car (good thing I had a plastic bag there). We got to the hospital at 3 am. They put me into this room to check and see if I could get addmited . This nurse that first check me was soo rude. She check my contractions and baby's heartrate. She asked me if I wanted to get the epidural as soon as I got there. My birth plan was not to get the epidural, so I told her no. And she told me "well I don't want to see you crying." So rude of her. Then a doctor came to see how much I was dilated (not my doctor, my doctor was still not there)...and I was 6cm when I arrived. So they gave me my own room, got me hooked up to these monitors to keep checking on the contractions and baby's heartrate. At 5 am the nurse came to check on me I was 8cm...and at 7am she came to check again and she said "you are ready", I couldn't believe it . My doctor was still not there, they were calling her, and she was on her way. I was ready to push , waiting for my doctor. As soon as she came into the room she put on all the stuff the nurses had ready for her. Omg the contractions were intense and it burn so much to push. But baby was out at 7:34 am. All I can say is that it wasn't as bad as I thought but labor was so exhausting. I had a second degree tear. My birth plan was a success, I gave birth vaginal, and epidural free, just like I wanted. The most wonderful thing was skin to skin with my baby right after birth. Now she is 10 weeks and 5 days old. Iam so proud to be her mother , she is a happy, healthy , strong baby girl.
