getaway without baby?

Question

So my son is only 3 months and we also have full custody of his 4 and 5 year old. I feel like me and my husband have no idea what sex is anymore. I don't even think we know what a date is without a fussy baby. When my little gets to be about 7-8 months I wanted to take a little 3 day getaway trip with my husband, but is that too soon to be away from my little? I'm so worried I'm not good mom because I miss our intimacy.

One of my bosses gave the best response when I asked why her kids were not going on vacation with her and her husband....she said kids are theoretically only around until they're 18yrs old then they are off to college or whatever else they want to do.  You are with your spouse for the rest of your life.  That is the relationship you have to work on the most.  At first I thought it sounded kind of cold but it really is true.  Your kids are your kids and they will love you no matter what, even if they miss a vacation with you and dad every once in a while.  The relationship you have with your spouse is just as important and needs the most attention to make work and stay happy.

Yes! Do it! And how about 1 night in a local hotel NOW? Remember that the health of your relationship is equal to the daily needs of your kids, your kids need a fully functioning set of parents more than anything. So it's not silly or unnecessary, it's very important for the whole family.

If you need it, go for it. You'll feel tons better when you get back. We went on a date night when baby was 3 weeks old and that alone really helped

It's good for you and your husband to get away and reconnect. The fact that you're worrying shows that you're a good mom. Going away for a couple days will be good for you guys and baby.

I think that's a great idea! As long as you have someone you trust to take care of the little one, go and be with your partner! My partner and I are determined to spend at least one 24 hour period Alone with each other per month beginning when our baby is 6 months, maybe sooner if I can get adequate childcare!

I say if you can find someone to watch them that long, GO FOR IT.  It IS important for mom and dad to have one on one time now and then.  Does NOT make you a bad mom.
 
Though make sure HE is on board with this plan too, hahahaha.

When my second was 6 months old hubby and I took a vacation for 10 days. He was colicky until he was 11 months do we/I needed that break to keep going.

I'll be away from my first a lot sooner for my 21st birthday. Often, the babies are just fine and it's the mother that can't bare the separation
