My MIL says i hung up on her twice!!!!!

I am 4 months pregnant, full time in school doing my teaching certificate, and I teach on the side after school. Mind you I also have to cool and clean. My husband and I had our issues with her (nagging, clingy, and self invites herself to our events...Literally. or asks to be invited.)

Anyway, I learned to set boundaries and I did. My Mil talks to her two daughters daily, where if I what's up my mom once a week it's normal. She expects that I call her to check in daily. Before I set boundaries, she would call 5x a day!!!! I'm not a phone person and I don't want someone blowing up my phone or asking why I didn't answer the first few times.

Anyway, my husband and I had our issues last week where we were arguing about other stuff and we ignored her calls. She called me a total of 1x and called him a whole bunch.

Yesterday she was on the phone w my husband and asked to talk to me. First thing she said is "what did I do to you and why do you hang up on me when I've been calling you all week."

Uh.....Being accused of BS like that, and your MAIL doing it is insanity. My face got all red and I really was upset! I said me??? I never hung up on you. I would never answer the phone and hang up on anyone. If I am busy I just won't answer. And she goes, as you like then....

My husband believes me and says his mom sits home all day and comes up with stories. But a few months ago she went on a group trip to Europe and told her daughters that their cousin who had also gone ruined her trip and was very mean to her and now her and her daughters don't talk to their cousin because of the things my mother-in-law said.

I know their cousin and she's really nice and sweet and I can't imagine she did all the things she accused her of.

So now I'm worried that she will talk about me to his sisters and cousins and aunts bc that's what she does all day. Gossip on the phone.

My husband said don't worry, everyone knows how she is. But, I can't help but worry.
