Sleep Changes
My little dude will be five months on the 5th. Until recently he's had pretty predictable sleeping patterns and habits.
He'd go to bed at 10-10:30 pm then sleep till 11 am with a nursing break at 7 am. He'd always nurse to sleep.
He'd fuss before bedtime only if more than two hours passed since his last nap. Walking him around the house would usually calm him. In terms of naps he'd nap predictably every 1.5-2 hours throughout the day with the possible exception of the evening nap. He'd have at least one long two hour nap per day, usually two.
For a week now all this is out the window. He'll wake up at 8 am for the day and try to stay awake till he's overtired. Then two things can happen. Either I am lucky and find something that'll calm him (which can now be either rocking, nursing, walking, singing, pacifier or a combination) before he cries and he'll nap.
Or nothing calms him and he'll start crying, usually for 30 minutes or more until he's all red and tired and falls asleep. But then he'll be up again in like 20 min and we'll repeat this throughout the day....
It's absolutely killing me to see him cry for so long. I don't want to sleep train him or let him cry it out. Everything was going perfectly before.
What can this be? Is it the regression thing? Teething? Any advice to make it better?
