unexpected C-Section
I went out to eat with family at the mall on Saturday at 1/14/17. Didn't walk around much. I had a urge to pee so I started walking to restroom but as I was walking fluid started to come out on its own. I quickly realized what was happening. I walked faster and as soon as I got to the toilet *gush of fluid came out. I was 38 weeks and 3 days. I'm so happy I was wearing black pants that day. After I cleaned up a little, me and my fiancé rushed to the hospital. They admitted me and hooked me up to monitors. The nurse checked me and I was only 2 cm. I had strep B so they started me on antibiotics right away. The next day I wasn't progressing at all. So they started me on pitocin. As soon as my contractions started to get stronger, my daughter heart rate would go down. The nurse watched the monitor closely. One of the nurses ran in and stoped the pitocin. My doctor came in and said the baby does not like contractions and she is in distress. After that everything moved so fast. I was terrified. After all that my daughter was born at 5 lbs 9 oz. As soon as I heard her cry I felt relieved. The doctors noticed that my placenta was small. I wish I was informed this information early on in my pregnancy. I thank God that my baby girl is ok. By the way a C-Section is so painful.
