Stopping birth control.

I stopped taking my BC earlier this January due to ttc. I got in birth control due to irregular period and a hormone imbalance. I had my thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer and I was just wondering if my periods will continue to go back to being irregular or? I've been on the pill for quite some time time. Maybe a year or two. Had a period every month with it. And now that I stopped it this month, I haven't gotten my period... and I know I'm not pregnant because I have no symptoms at all. Any help about this would be great. Thanks.
