Im afraid im going to loose a grandparent..??

Question

This morning after I left my babysitting I got a message from one of my grandparents saying that their spouse has cancer. Ive lost my moms mom to cancer. I feel like im falling apart at that seems. I was at work tonight and we were busy and i got a lil bitchy. I didnt mean to I just feel like I wanna cry but cant. I wanna text my cousin who shares the same set of grandparents but dont know how??

Hi. I lost a grandparent for the first time 4 months ago. I had all my grandparents and even a greatgrandma. I am 20 yrs old so since I had all of them as an adult you never expect them to die. One is used to living with all of them. Out of all my grandparents he was the one I was the closest to. We had an amazing relationship and it hurt so much when he passed away. Because at the moment I was going through many changes in my life. Like living on my own for the first time. So I was taking care of him with many issues in my head. I think that unfortunately, when another grandparent of mine dies I will not be as heartbroken as I was with him. I miss him so much and to this day I am still hoping to see him one more time. I am really glad I always told him how much I love him and I have no regrets. I hope your grandparent heals and that you can enjoy them many more years. Be grateful and give them lots of love!! It's not easy. I lost my last grandparent at age 20. Never knew my grandpas, first grandma died 6 days before my high school graduation after a 6 month battle with cancer. Lost the 2nd one 2 1/2 years later after she'd been in a nursing home for 5 years. Im now 27 and I still have days where my heart aches. I just found out in the past week that my aunt has cancer and I'm worried how bad it is. Not ready to lost another family member!

Just text your cousin. Ask if they've heard from the grandparents and tell your cousin what you know. It'll help to discuss it with someone who shares family ties.

As far as the whole situation goes, we all lose our grandparents at some point. It's sadly inevitable. I was fortunate enough to know all of mine (my siblings didn't know my dad's mother, but I was old enough to have her a few years though visits were infrequent at best). I've only got one left after my grandfather died two years ago.

There's no easy way to get over it, but if you know there's a terminal diagnosis, you have the opportunity to spend as much time as you can with them before they go. Cherish that time. 💜

I lost my mom to cancer last month, it's good to be sad but find an outlet..a friend or even a journal to write everything you are feeling..I find this very therapudic and helpful. No one wants to yell at work. Good luck
