I feel like allowing them into any part of your life could possibly be bad to whatever relationship you may have right now. Do not make it easy for you to contact them during times that you are having a tough time with your current SO because it is very tempting contact an ex to make you temporaily feel better.

I don't see it as a deal. If it suits you it's probably good. However I've deleted my exes from my social media. one of them was like crazy obsessed with me. and the other one, well, let's just say it didn't end well. I also had one old friend. we had had something going on when we both were singles. We both started dating, he got engaged and we stayed friends. Unfortunately it got really weird at some point. He started keeping secrets from his wife, wouldn't tell her he was seeing me etc. I couldn't take it so I had to stop it. I didn't want to be part of something that weird. So right now, no I don't have any exes or anything like that as my friend. For me it just didn't feel natural...

I tend to be cordial with people I dated... and it's been 8 years since I've dated anyone besides my husband. I don't mind it so much (depending on the ex), but my husband doesn't see the need and cut ties.
