Provera

I had my first miscarriage in August after 10 weeks and since then have had irregular periods. I was given Provera in November to try to restart my system but nothing happened and I didn't get my period since then. Had my glucose levels checked and they're normal. I was given provera again last week and need to get blood work in 21 days to see if I ovulated on my own. If not, we will discuss ovulation medications but my doctor is hesitant to start them because it increases chances of multiple babies and he says that's high risk. Should I ask my doctor for an ultrasound to see what's going on or is this normal to just jump to medication? What do you ladies think? What kinda of questions should I ask at my next appointment? Praying for our rainbow baby!
