castor oil???? help!

So my friends and family swear by this! Lol yes I am full term.. has anyone done this and how much did u take and did it work for u????

Don't. It can cause the baby to pass meconium in the birth canal and that can end up really bad

Being full term is not enough. Your cervix has to be ready, baby has to be engaged, and even then many women just get explosive diarrhea. Don't know about you but even if it did work, I'm not interested in projectile poo'ing in my doctors face while trying to push out a baby.

Please don't. It can cause baby to poop while in the womb which can be fatal. Going into labor a little early is not worth the risks.

I was 3cm and 80% effaced at 37w5d. I doctor swept my membranes and said he'd probably see me soon to deliver. Saying I wouldn't make it to my next appointment. I lost my whole plug that day. At 37w6d I did 1teaspoon castor oil mixed with orange juice and chugged. I did get diarrhea and contractions. Got contractions that night kind of bad. Back labor. The next morning at 38w my water broke. I delivered 38w1d. If anything the castor oil cleaned me out bc I didn't poop lol. I watched myself birth in a mirror

Before i knew the risks I did with my oldest child. I drank about 2 oz (like a shot). It was horrific tasting but it did get contractions going hard and I stayed active until contractions were close enough to go to l&d. So after all that and a few hours of bouncing , running ect all I got was major diahrea and stalled labor. Went home and was induced at 42 weeks 🙄 I don't suggest this method.

I have heard of it working.....but I have also heard of it causing bad pain instead and if it does and also doesn't work, the doctors treat you like you did it to yourself..

I tried it and everything else with my first and ended up having to be induced so no it did not work, tasted awful and cause diarrhea.

I did with my last and everything went fine I just had the runs for a day I think I took a couple of teaspoons with some orange juice. I did that on a Friday and had her on Monday
