So Friday night my mom and I went to lowes and to krogers for groceries. Got home around 10. Hung out with mom for a few hours, finally laid down for bed at 1 am. Since I have 3 dogs plus I was puppy sitting and I had my special needs little sister, I was not able to fall asleep until 2 and woke up 2x throughout the night. 6:45 exactly I felt a pop and warm fluid. Immediately opened my eyes. Waddled to the bathroom and my underwear and pants were wet, not soaked but wet. Didn't even get my bed wet. Called my sister who has 4 kids and let my mom and husband know (he works 3rds and was at work) that I thought my water ruptured. Got all the dogs taken care of and my little sister ready. I was not having any contractions yet. Husband got home and got cleaned up, called the dr at 8:30. Got to triage around 10. Dr checked and said clinically it looks like my water ruptured but there was no fern. I was 2 cm and 70% (same as my appt on Thursday) Dr monitored me for an hour and I progressed to 3 cm. I was admitted and in a room by 1:30pm. Ate lunch and took a walk with my husband. Light early labor until 3:30- water completely ruptured. Contractions started to kick it up a notch. Still 3 cm at this point. 5pm took another walk with my mom and dad, 3 laps around the floor, contractions getting super bad! Dr checked and I was 4 cm. I asked for my epidural. This is where it gets good. I had told them from the beginning I wanted the epi. My nurses did not have me hooked up to my saline drip for over half my stay, I still had a half bag left. Within the 10 mins it got for them to set that up I went from 4 to 5 cm. Contractions less than 2 mins apart and very strong. It got to be where my contractions were back to back lasting almost 2 mins before I got my epidural. Anesthesiologist had to poke my back twice! Bc of my scoliosis and only being 4 ft 11in. After epidural which was finally given at 7pm, about 40 mins later I was at 9 cm and 100%. They let me labor for another hr and half before nurse started to get me ready to push. By the time everything was set up and ready to go it was 10:30. Pushed for 2 hours and 8 mins, Addyson was born at 12:38 am on 1/29/17. Perfectly healthy and weighed 6lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long. My active labor stage was only like 4 and half hours as a FTM. And I'm blessed to say that our princess was born on my husbands and i's 8th dating anniversary. Best gift I could have ever received 😍
