If I ovulate late does that mean my period will be late?

I ALWAYS have a 28 day cycle. Usually with a day of spotting before... I tracked my ovulation and got a positive O on cycle day 17. I'm wondering if I ovulated late will my cycle not be the normal 28 days maybe longer?  Should I wait a few days to test? Day 28 will be tomorrow.

Some people don't have a 14 day luteal phase. I ovulate around day 17 and my period comes on day 28 like clockwork. (Didn't matter for us, got pregnant on the first try!) Everyone is different, and some peoples cycles vary from month to month.  The earliest you can test and hope for a positive is ~10 days after ovulation, so right around when you expect your period anyway. Honestly you never know. I ovulated late so I ended up being 4 days behind what I would have been by going off my lmp. I'd take a test when your period would have been due but then test again a few days later if it's negative. Good luck!!
