I'm 29 wks 5day's today. I'm due April 14th, 2017 (I always put the yr because of so many people getting confused when they see a post that seems like it's a recent post and turns out 2 be from a yr ago if not longer).

Yesterday when I went 2 see my OB Dr which being high risk I've been going every 2 wks since my first trimester. Anyways, when she came in she told me that my urine test came back positive for Group B Strep. Which at that point I started shaking some because of my nerves and not being able 2 take my medicine until I have my baby because of them being addictive. She assured me that my baby will be OK as long as I take the antibiotics she was calling into the pharmacy 4 me and when I go into labor that I don't hesitate or take my time 2 get 2 the hospital so I can be hooked up 2 IV antibiotics so when my son comes he will not contract it.

My question is, has anyone else been diagnosed with this during your pregnancy and if so how are you dealing with it? I've been reading up about this and everything I read said that it's NOT a STD and it lives in a womans body mainly in your private areas but I've still been beating myself up thinking I did something wrong 2 get this even though I've been reassured several times that I did nothing wrong. I've never heard of this before. Not even with my 1st child or I just don't remember because I'm basically starting all over again. My son just turned 15 and just about everything I learned with that pregnancy I forgot because it's been so long ago. Well, I'm just wondering if anyone else is dealing with this besides me?
