Owlet...yes or no?

FTM here and my husband and I are debating on purchasing the owlet sleep monitor. I love that it will give me peace of mind while LO is sleeping, but can't decide if it's worth the price tag. I would love your opinion!

I don't have one but I plan on getting one. I do know someone who has it and she is very happy with it though.

My childbirth education class recommended no electronics since they can give a false sense of security. Emphasized the current recommendations for baby to stay in parents room 6 months minimum to combat risks of SIDS. I was surprised to hear that recommendation was so baby can hear you breathing and match it. No so much so parents can hear baby. Congratulations on your little one!

My husband and I bought the owlet onsie. So instead of the sock, cause I've heard sometimes it'll fall off, we got the onsies. I'm a FTM but I'm pretty excited about it, as it'll give me a peace of mind. We're starting baby off in her own room from day one.

We have one and when it works its great! I love the whole concept of it. But if the sock is even a little bit loose then it wont read and just says " wiggling" on it...or if baby is moving it doesnt read very well either. Our daughter was born at the beginning of January and couldnt fit in the newborn sock even though she was 7lb 11oz...guess her feet are just too long and skinny. The newborn sock is still kinda loose now. Also the app will not work with google pixel phones, my husband has one and emailed owlet and they said they are working on the issues. Hopefully we have better luck with it as our daughter gets bigger cause they definitely arent cheap
