best way to celebrate 1st bday?!

I wanted to throw my little one (ftm over here) a big birthday party for her first bday... then I came to realize 3 days at Disney is more affordable. So I need your opinions... what would be most memorable?! Any other ideas?!

Lol I was planning on just doing a cake for him I feel like there is no point they will not remember once he gets older we will not do birthday parties we want to take him places so do you guys and what would be more memorable for you as a family

I don't throw huge parties, but I throw decent parties for 1st birthdays. 
And then after that I've decided it's cake and ice cream only since no one knows how to RSVP or send a text regarding the party anymore. 🙄

We did a huge party for my daughters 1st... Needless to say for baby #2's first birthday, we will be doing a low key family party. Cake & bbq. Such a waste for a one year old. I understand wanting to go crazy because it's your baby's FIRST birthday but there will be many many more. Now that my daughter is 4, it's some what appropriate to go all out on a birthday party because she has friends from school and she knows it's her birthday!

She's not gonna remember or even know what's going on. My train of thought is, do something small for the family early on, and when my LO starts being able to understand, recognize and remember experiences, then I will throw memorable parties/take him places. Until then, no point in spending a lot of money on birthdays. But that's just me. Just what's right for you.
