I feel like it should be done automatically if a mother doesn't specifically ask to keep it or ask for it to be destroyed. I think most mothers (who don't want to keep them) wouldn't care what happens to them, and if they were aware would love to donate. But in the midst of pain, excitement, recovering, visitors and becoming a mum, it's the last thing on people's mind. So they often get unnecessarily wasted. ☹️

I'd rather have my baby have their own blood w delayed cord cramping so no, would not donate it... If we could do both then yes would donate

Never heard of donating it. I knew you could pay out the ass to store it for personal use, but we delayed cord clamping anyway

Never heard of this, But how does it work if you're planning  on delaying clamping a few mins?   If you can do both I'd  be interested  in more info.

We chose to delay cord clamping and waited to clamp/cut the cord until it stopped pulsating. I don't believe you can do both.

You are donating the cord blood, not just the cord. You can't do this and delayed cord clamping. I would love to donate if everything goes smoothly but I want my baby to have that blood if she needs it.
