"She has a temperature"

I took my daughters temp because she felt hot and it was 100 so I said to my hubby "she's running a temperature" and he was like "that's not how that's phrased it's "she's running a fever" (along with some jokes at my expense which is why I'm not letting this go. Lol)

I'm so sure "running a temperature" is common lingo for "running a fever" but hey I could be wrong. So ladies if you could help us out, who's right? Lol
