what happens to the vagina after birth?

I don't mean right after cause I can't imagine how swollen and red it is but after a few weeks and first time having sex. Is it really gonna just be a huge hole? Does your husband still feel pleasure?

I've been so nervous and thinking so much about this :/

It shrinks back to what it was before. If you get shot, does the gaping hole stay there? No it heals and goes back to normal. Yes there might behind some scarring and or stretch marks, but it's essentially the same as it was before birth!

The vagina is made of erectile tissue just like a penis. My doula jokes that childbirth is the only time that we see erectile tissue greatly expand and then worry that it won't go back to its normal size. 😂

Mine looks and feels the same my husband had no complaints he said he actually thought it was tighter lol and i tore a little...wait till 3 weeks after birth if possible before you try sex...my husband really wanted it after 2 weeks and i was still pretty sore so wait as long as you can..but otherwise it goes right back and im about to pop out another baby here soon 😊 don't worry

Goes back to normal unless you tear or are cut then it's normal with stitches that come out on their own. Your cervix can change slightly but nothing you or anyone will notice. Only your OB/gyn would know.

it was very painful for me but my boyfriend loved it. I had a 4th degree episiotomy and I feel like when they stitched me up they pulled it real tight around the opening so it was a little tough when he would first go in. but I'd say everything felt pretty much 100% normal around 6 months pp.

It's fine, it kind of just goes back to how it was. The thing that's not ok with me is my bladder but that's partly my fault because I drink too much caffeine. Try not to worry about the va jay jay after birth just don't rush sex the first time xx

Your vagina is kinda like an acordion it has folds for birth it opens up. Thing of it this way...sometimes it hurts to put a tampon in ...then again your husbands member can fit in without a problem...right? For birth it slowly opens up even more then as it heals it closes back up. You should not be bigger. Many people i know say everything felt tighter and smaller. MANY women say sex is must better after...iv also heard men say the same. Do your kegels and squats after and all will be fine
