first baby! helllp?!

Question

Just found out I am pregnant yesterday! My husband and I are thrilled!!! However we aren't wanting to tell anyone till the doctor clears us! My husband is a nurse and knows the risk of miscarriages in the first trimester... however I don't have any one I can ask stuff right now either other than Google! I have my first appointment march 6th!! But until then I am four weeks and five days... what are some things I should know???

First of all, congratulations! So exciting ❤ As someone who's had a loss, I'll just let you know a support system is critical if you did lose the baby. Not that you will, but when I miscarried, we had announced right away, and then had to announce six weeks later about the miscarriage. It sucked but I had many people come forward and lend an ear and a shoulder to cry on. When we conceived our rainbow baby, we waited to announce until 13 weeks on social media, but told immediate family (parents, siblings, best friends) right away so we would have that support system again. It's definitely a preference kind of thing, so I understand wanting to wait. But keep that in mind also. The first trimester is very exhausting, try to take prenatals if you can stomach it and schedule a doctor appointment ASAP. Good luck mama! ☺

Well I haven't given birth yet I'm only 24 weeks but there's not much to know at first really. Things are different for everyone. You may experience some nausea in the first trimester, you may not. Either way is normal. Usually they say by 12 weeks the chance of miscarriage goes way down. Your doctors will confirm your pregnancy at your first appointment and can answer any questions you might have. Don't get worried if you aren't showing until 20 weeks because it's totally normal especially as a FTM. You also won't feel the baby until at the earliest probably 16 weeks but sometimes even that is soon. Spotting can be Normal sometimes. Keep an eye on it if it happens at all. If you're not having any pain than it is most likely fine. But if you every question anything you can always call your doctor.
