You should look into couponing for that stuff, tbh. 
My MIL legit gets us like 6 packs of diapers for basically free by doing it.

My baby is 7.5 months and I just started buying stuff last week. She got everything you could imagine from her baby shower and her grandparents have spoiled her rotten since she's been born, as this is their first grandchild. So far I've only spent money on the following:

Breast pads and storage bags: $25-$30 (a month). 
1 pack of diapers: $25
Finger toothbrush: $6.99
Fleece Onsie: $10
Baby food: $20

Formula alone can cost over $100 a month depending on the brand. Try to breastfeed if you need to save money! Or look into the Costco brand. We now use the Costco brand and my LO does great on it. Other than that.::diapers are more expensive in the beginning bc you go through like 15 a day. My LO is now 10 months and we go through maybe 5 a day. Wipes are super cheap...like $2 for a pack that lasts  1/2-1 week. Clothes I get from once upon a child. Probably spend $40 per size right now. She just moved into 18 month in some brands and I went during a sale where everything was $1.

We always buy diapers when we see them on sale so I'd say we are only spending $35 on those monthly. I'm not sure about formula costs. But really clothes/toys etc is ip to you. My kid would be perfectly happy playing with Tupperware all day. Usually we spend about $50 on what I would deem unnecessary baby spending. The real cost increase was health insurance (and in my case: daycare). Once you have the basics the monthly expenses aren't as bad.
