induction without being dilated??

Question

So I'm 37 weeks 2 days. At my last ob appt on Monday I wasn't dilated at all, cervix still
Higher and closed.

Dr has me down for induction on Tuesday the 14th. My next appt
With her is this Monday. She made it sound like if I wasn't dilated at all still she would schedule a c section ??

Has anyone ever had an induction without being dilated first ?? She told me to try and have sex this weekend to get
Things going.  But doubt that's gonna happen and no guarantee it'll work.

But is any medical reason for your OB to rush the birth of your baby?....because if everything is normal I honestly don't see any reason to have an induction before your due day

I have been induced 3 times without being dialated . I didn't have any problems , they started pitocin at around 8 am and all my kids were born in the afternoon between 4-5 lol.  Now I can't remember my cervix may have been soft and effaced, but I started at zero for sure.

All I know is at this point she has me scheduled for the 14th in the afternoon. That's like 10 days ?😱

That's plenty of time to start dilating. You could even go into labor on your own before then. Try walking as much as you can. I've heard it really helps the dilation process. I'm hoping to be dilated this Monday for an induction after last Monday still being at a 0 as well.
