Anyone had an elective or planning on having one?

Question

Just looking for a bit of advice as I'm planning an elective. His due date is the 21st Feb and booking the section this Monday!

Can anyone let me know if the medication they give you during or after the section makes your head feel funny at all? I hate taking anything that makes me feel out of control as it will trigger my anxiety. Just wondering about other people's experiences as a nervous FTM!

(There are medical reasons for my choice as well)

They will take this into consideration when medicating you :). The spinal if anything will make you nauseated. The medication afterwards for me was hydrocodone which only made me tired. I switched to Tylenol as soon as I could alternated with Motrin. The only other med I got was a dose of  toradol in my iv which is an nsaid. It made me dizzy but I was still numb and couldn't get out of bed regardless so it didn't really matter. And an anti nausea med which just made me not nauseated lol. Good luck mama!

It won't make you feel funny at all. I had an emergency c-section wth my first and I was so nervous!!! Once the spinal and morphine kicked in I was okay. It's just a weird feeling. You will feel a lot of pressure in your chest which did make me anxious bc I felt like I couldn't breathe. They told me that it was totally normal. I just breathed through my nose and out of my mouth. I was fine :) they get it done so quickly too you'll be in and out momma!! Good luck

The medication they give you makes your bottom half paralyzed essentially you won't feel most of it and when they start the c section all you get is massive pressure especially when they go in the uterus to get the baby out
