how would you feel if your engagement ring was a fake diamond??

My boyfriend and I picked out an engagement ring tonight!! Ya'll, it's been 8 years! I'm so ready to marry him!! But for his sake, I picked out an engagement ring which the center stone isn't a real diamond,  it's a Moissonite. We compared Moissonites to real diamonds and couldn't tell the difference! It's literally half the price of a real Diamond. So I went with this set! I'm seriously so in love.

I just want to point out that a moissanite isn't a "fake diamond" as it's something else entirely and not trying to pretend it's a diamond. It's its own thing so own it and be proud to flaunt it! :) The history of it is actually pretty cool and part of the reason I chose to have a moissanite as my center stone over anything else. The shine is simply amazing and you can't beat the price! And I personally could get over the idea of constantly wondering if someone lost an arm trying to discover my diamond (I get strangely intense about things haha) so my engagement is moissanite and my wedding band has conflict free diamonds. 
But I have absolutely no problem telling people my e-ring is a moissanite and telling them the history of the stone. 
So flaunt that stunner!!! It's gorgeous!! And congratulations!!! 😊

I have a moissanite for my engagement ring and I absolutely love it! I got exactly what I wanted for a fraction of the price. It shines so beautifully and almost 3 years later I still get compliments on it 😊 Your ring is gorgeous! 💍

That set is lovely! My center stone is a huge chunk of rose quartz, which, while beautiful isn't exactly a super valuable stone. It has a special meaning to me though, and I told him I didn't want a diamond. If you love it, rock it!

My birthstone is a diamond, so over the years, I have fallen out of love with them. My ring has a white sapphire in it and I love it! As long as he (or the jeweler) didn't lie about it, I'd be perfectly fine with any stone!

I have a moisanite center stone as well. It was a decision my husband and I made together. Having a real diamond wasn't that important to me. I'm happy we saved that money for a down payment on a house instead!

Its gorgeous! My husband bought me a CZ ring before we got married for less but doesn't mean Its any less valuable to me. Anytime I look at more expensive rings I just can't seem to want anything else but the one he gave me.

I don't think it matters. My engagement ring cost twice as much as my wedding band it it was still only 100-250$ my wedding band was maybe 25-50$. But I love me wedding band because it has such a sentimental value to me. I don't think the price of the ring or if the diamond is real or not should matter, it's the person who gives it to you that should mean the most.
