Baby Shower problems

My baby shower is set for March 4th and my mom said she wanted to plan it so I wouldn't have to worry about anything. Well we don't have a place to host it(our house is too small) and we can't change the date since it's the only day my aunts were able to be off work. We've had this date set since end of December and I don't know why my mom didn't find a place. There aren't many places in my city to host events, and the places that we do have are super expensive. I'm not sure what to do or if I even want to have a baby shower now, but at the same time I kinda need to have one since I lost my job and really don't have a lot of stuff for my baby. Any advice??
