I think usually a family member or friend host it for you but there's no reason you couldnt do it yourself.

I personally think throwing your own shower implies you're doing it to get gifts. If people want to throw you a shower, great. If you don't have a shower and people give you gifts, great.

I totally read this wrong and thought it said "do you throw your own baby in the shower" ugh pregnancy brain kicking in again. I threw my own baby shower for my last son because I really just wanted to be around my "friends" and play some baby shower games but nobody showed up so I guess it was a bad idea.

Usually someone throws one for you, but that doesn't mean you can't throw one for yourself!
