My quick labor story February 5th
I woke up at 4am with contractions they came every 5 mins but only lasted about 30 secs four times. Got up to go pee and noticed red blood. So I jumped on the nature app to see what i shoudld do. It told me that my cervix could be ripping and that I should go to see a doctor. So I packed my hospital bag and started going to the car because I didn't think it was labor. Went to jack in the box ordered a burrito just in case it was the real deal. Pulled up to the parking lot ate my burrito. Had another contraction and then walked my way up to labor and delivery. When I checked into the nurse at 6am I told her that I am spotting blood and had some contractions but not consistent. She set me up a room. Another nurse came in and checked me and said I was already 8cm. Whoa it was go time! My boyfriend called me and asked where I was at. I said I am checking into the hospital to see what this blood was all about and told him baby is now coming! They set me up in another room and said they will have to break my water soon and start labor since I was already 8cm. Asked if I wanted epidural. I said maybe not since I am feeling ok. Nurse did advise it will be more painful when water breaks. Of course she was right. Doctor came in at 7am and broke my water. I can feel the warm hot water between my legs. Within 30 minutes my first contraction hit and I was like whoa that is gonna be painful. Nurse said she could give me epidural but I would have to decide ASAP or I could take IV something for pain. She explained it would be like you're drunk but without the hangover. I took that and within minutes I felt the room started to spin and I was more relax. Felt another contraction but I didn't hurt as much. It was now 8am and my boyfriend got dropped off And it looked like it may be a while before I would have to push. Nurse said to call if I felt the need to poop or push. I called her in after I felt the second urge to poop. Then they circled two other nurses and doctor and I was ready to go. Pushed 6 times that felt like I was doing nothing but he came out 15 minutes later at 9:01am. Here is my baby boy Cameron weighing 7 lbs 5 ounces at 38w5d when I was supposed to be induced at 39 weeks due to gestational diabetes.
