Schedule Induction?

I am almost 32 weeks and started having non-stress tests (NST) at 31 weeks. At that appt the Dr suggested I consider scheduling an induction at bw 38-39 wks. Reason for Dr suggesting is my age (35) and baby has a 2 cord vessel (most babies have 3 cord, 1 vein in umbilical cord and 2 arteries. My baby has 1 vein and 1 artery which could possibly effect growth). I have been having level 2 sonograms monthly and so far baby is measuring and growing fine. I am extremely nervous about inducing bc I have heard terrible stories from several friends and relatives who have been induced. I am not against induction if there is a legit medical reason, but I worry about forcing baby to come too soon. Also I should add that I was tracking my cycle bc we were TTC and my Dr office has my due date 1 week early based on my last period rather than when i likely conceived (I have a longer cycle). 

Am I crazy to be concerned about this? I discussed with Dr and she said dates are so close (7 days apart) that it doesn't really matter.
