Chromosome disorder??!!

The baby dr called today about the blood work she did last week and there's a Chromosome disorder she didn't say a whole lot but that and that we would talk more Thursday at my next appointment, she wanted to call and tell me so I wasn't caught off guard....... anyone else? I am trying not to freak out completely.. but we are scared to death!

I'm sorry you have to deal with that stress. If it helps at all, those tests can often be off and don't have a black or white "yes your baby has this condition" or "no, your baby does not" answers. Something may have picked up as a possibility but even then there is a large margin of error.

We chose not to do the testing just because my brother and his wife were given a "strong likelihood" that their daughter would have Turner Syndrome. They proceeded with the amniocentesis which was still inconclusive. They had a lot of stress through the whole pregnancy, but she was born perfect and healthy. I've heard this happens a lot.

The blood tests usually pick up a risk only, so it is not necessarily a diagnosis. Sorry you are stuck in this horrible limbo!

Im sorry hun, prayers for you and your family. I dont know why the dr would do that over the phone. That would make any parent freak out!!! I get he wanted to warn you but usually they only tell you its urgent to come in, I didnt think they could disuss it in anymore detail then you need to come in and get results.
