College Major?

Question

Hi! I'm a senior in high school and considering majoring in Psychology, anyone have opinions on wether or not it's a good idea? Also post ur major and how it's going :)! Thanks!

Yup, psych major here. It's pretty easy. 
But don't do it unless you're going to continue to a masters degree, you can't do anything with a bachelors degree in psychology lol

Be prepared to go to Graduate school after your bachelor's. Psychology is insanely broad

From the outside looking in it seems like psychology is the new "English major" I think about half of my friends majored in it when I graduated ten years ago.  I went to art school so I can't comment on how hard it is hah and I haven't kept up with many of my friends from then either.

I'm graduating this semester with my BA in English with minors in both Spanish and Psychology and I will say that Psychology is a very popular major. It's very interesting and a lot of fun, but it's also a LOT of work. I recommend not declaring an official major the first year and focus on getting all of your general education classes done so you have an idea of what types of classes you enjoy and find interest in, and which ones you don't like as much.

I wanted to major in psychology. It's a lot of hard work and dedication. The classes are hard even the intro courses. I'm an elementary education major

Hey Marlene! I am 24 and I just graduated from my bachelor's in psychology. I absolutely loved it! It is an amazing field. However, I wouldn't focus on what major to get. Best way to go about it is to figure out what job you want later in life and then figure out what schooling you need to get there. Just be aware that there is very very little you can do with a psychology bachelor's. If this is something you want to pursue, plan on a masters or a doctorate degree. I want to be a school counselor. So first I got my bachelors in psychology and now I am going to get my masters in school counseling. Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to help.
