Could you ever be the wife of a music artist?

My fiancé is a rap artist and he's is pursuing his dream. Obviously with music artist comes lots of traveling, long nights, not seeing him for weeks on end and no solid home structure, in my opinion. Would you be able to do it? Because I'm not sure I can. :( no judgement please I want to know if you could do it and why/why not?

I want to preface this with this is just MY experience, but I will never ever EVER date a musician again.
From the ones that I've dated (now, that's only two so that's not a huge data pool), they're always super full of themselves and self centered. Which, by the way, I think is TOTALLY necessary for anyone to get anywhere in the music industry. Because if you're going to be successful in that field you have to be a major self promoter and that often comes with being crazy big headed and feeding off of the attention they get from others.
And that's a huge turn off for me. So I couldn't do it, haha.

My husband is a truck driver, lucky to see him two days a month. We are both pretty easy going people though and I love my alone time. Some times its lonely and it's sad when he misses out on events with friends and family but we make it work. With today's technology we talk constantly throughout the day. It's always very exciting when he comes home (due home in 2 days and counting) 
I dunno, I think you just have to be really secure and confident in your relationship. Definitely need to be able to trust one another.

I've did it, it's hard. My husband used to play poker for a living full time. It was hard but you learn to get through it. He would be fine for 3-4 month stretches. You talk when you can and do little gestures to make it not boring. I'd mail him things from time to time and make his time at home special.

No. I dated a musical artist for seven years and it was really hard. In the end he turned out to be a cheater many times over. I would not generalize and say that it's all musicians though. However, I know that that life is not for me and I would not do it again ever ever ever. So if you can, you are strong! And if you don't want to, I do not blame you at all!

It wouldn't be any different than an army wife. Ok there ARE differences between the two, but a lot of similarities between them also. Those moments when he's home will be extra fun and special. I like to think I'm not superficial and self centered and not demand attention 100% of the time. Or even 40% of the time. I don't know. Maybe I've been in an independent relationship for too long. As much as my man and I are together, we're not mentally. He works 60-80 hours a week and on his days off is when I can take care of errands and groceries. It my lifestyle and I'm comfortable with it. I have my kids and I enjoy our moments together. That's what I think that matters.
