Ovulation test?

So I took a ovulation test and it's less than a week until my period and there is a light line. I heard it can pick up hcg is that true?

I wouldn't rely on an ovulation test to determine a pregnancy. Get a pregnancy test to be sure.

Not reliable enough. For some women, LH can rise before their periods.

Additionally, a light line really doesn't mean anything on an ovulation strip since LH should always be detected in your body. A dark line means the LH has peaked or is rising. Just wait a week and take an HPT.
