birth photographer

My husband and I have been going back and forth with hiring a birth photographer and can't make up our mind. None of our family lives close to us, so it'll only be him and I in the labor and delivery room, so no1 to capture any moments before,during and right after our baby girl is here. He thinks it would be nice to have photos, but also that it'll be really awkward having someone in there snapping pictures. What's everyone's thoughts? Do you use one? If not, do you regret it not having one? Thanks in advance!! 🙏🏼💕
