It's hard because unless your body and baby are ready, not much can actually start things off. 
 
My OB said though the best thing to try and get things going is lots and lots of walking. My husband and I walked a lot and tried having sex more frequently towards the end, but some of the things people suggest really only work if your body is ready so it's hard to say for sure what will work for you! 
 
Just avoid castor oil at all costs. So dangerous! I can't believe I still see posts on here about women using it.

I tried everything starting st 38 weeks: sex, walking (waddling) as fast as I could manage, painfully spicy chili, squats, eating an entire pineapple in one day (couldn't manage it, it was making my mouth raw). And then one day after my due date I had a surprise day off from work (I was still working since being active is supposed to help) so I went to a spa and got a 30 minute facial and a pedicure and by the time I left I was having contractions! Hooray! But then I was contracting at home for over 24 hours before I had to go to the hospital. The facial and pedicure causing my contractions to start could just be coincidence, but you should take care of you anyways 😜 hopefully treating yourself works for you too

I dunno if it was just coincidence, but my water broke like 6 hours after my hubby and I had sex. With that being said, I was 39 weeks and a day pregnant. This was my first pregnancy. Who knows. Lol. I strongly believe that baby will come when they are ready.

I was in prodromal labor for almost 2 weeks and nothing I did got it to pick up. One day I decided to wait and went into labor that night.
