IUD birth control??

So I decided to get the IUD Thursday the 3 year one...so scared! Has anyone gotten it before and did it hurt???

I got the copper IUD (10 years with no hormones). The fact that it had no hormones was important to me since I'm breast feeding and I didn't want to worry everyday about a pill. So far I love it. If it's anything like yours, not sure that it is, then maybe my comment will help some?? My only downside to this is that the cramps hurt so much, well in the beginning they were worse. Nothing unbearable though. I mean come on we gave birth lmao. And my periods are way heavier.

I've had the Mirena since the end of November. Insertion didn't hurt, but I spotted everyday until the middle of January. I still spot occasionally, but that's expected. My periods are much lighter so far. I had a decent amount of cramping the first couple weeks and I occasionally cramp, but it isn't anything intolerable. Overall, I think it's going well for me.

I'm on my fourth one and it never hurt. I've had one for over 11 years (obviously not the same one haha)

I had mine for a few months and bled heavily for weeks at a time and was just generally uncomfortable. I ended up getting it removed 😑 it sounds like a better idea than it is. That was just my experience though. I had mine in before I had my daughter so maybe that's why it didn't work out. They say it is better for those who've had a child.

Ive got it at my six week checkup. I don't exactly know what happened and what was the reason, but it was terribly painful. I bled for ten days and had terrible pain in lower back and belly. After ten days or so they all passed and I feel great. But my period now lasts 7 week instead of three days how I was used to.

However, if I had to decide one more time,I might have change my opinion and go for pills.
