Going by a middle name- ok or not??

My husband and I love Lydia but he hates Liddy. He says that "it's like petting a cat backwards" lol so I was think about calling Lydia by her middle name Autumn. Can't use Autumn as a first name because it's an A name and we don't reuse letters. I have nothing against Lydia as I love it, I just don't want to call her that and wanted her to have a nickname. All our kids have nicknames.

To each their own. I personally hate that and other nicknames. Name your kid what you're going to call them. If you don't want people to call her liddy correct them when they do and teach her her proper name and she'll correct them when she's older and you aren't there.

My daughters name is Autumn Avery and I honestly call her Avery more then Autumn.

My son is a 3rd. His daddys name is steve dewayne and HIS dad is steve dewayne also and goes by dewayne my son is steve Dewayne also (3rd) and we call him little dewayne. I personally dont care for steve but they all go by there middle names i don't see anything wrong with a child being called by there middle name it is still their NAME. My son will be 3 next month :) I say name her whatever you want. There is nothing wrong with middle names!

Middle names are good nicknames, my name is Ashley Reidel and my entire family calls me Ray, not a single person calls me Ashley lol.

I would never think to call her liddy for short. But I don't think it's odd to go by a middle name.

I do it with my daughter. It wasn't even intentional just kind of happened. Her name is Adrianna Rennae and most of the time I call her rennae. It just rolls off the tongue easier I guess. My grandma has a fit and tells me if I wanted to call her rennae I should have made that her name. Well excuse me but I'm pretty sure a middle name is still a name.
