Starting a new job while pregnant?
I am 15.5 weeks along and am expecting to hear within the week about the hiring decision on a job I applied for when I was about six weeks along. I feel optimistic that I have a good shot at getting it - it's an internal position at the company I currently work for, I had multiple good interviews with the hiring manager, and my current manager said he had a good conversation with the hiring manager on how my current skills might transfer into the new position. I have been in my current position 3.5 years. Problem is, I feel kind of bad starting this new job knowing I'll be leaving them for a few months in August. I'm also planning on moving to a different state in October, but since the job can be done remotely I am really hoping they will let me continue to do it after I move. So I do want to keep working after my maternity leave, just from home instead of being physically in the office.
I'm really having a dilemma, because while I think this is a good opportunity for my career and it will absolutely be better financially, I also don't want to leave the new team high and dry during my maternity leave (and possibly permanent leave if they don't allow me to keep working after I move).
What do y'all think? Good vibes only, if you have critical feedback, please try not to be *mean* about it, you know how sensitive us preggos can get! 😝
