advice to help baby with gas

Hi so I'm going to call his doctor in the morning but my lo is two weeks and he's been having really bad gas. I've tried burping him but it often doesn't seem to help. His gas comes out mostly as farts. I thought it could be my eating diary but even without diary the gas is really bad and sends him into crying fits. What else can I do ? I can't stand seeing him get so upset and feeling like I can't help him.
