How long does it take for pooping to be normal after childbirth?

I gave birth vaginally on the 3rd and my bowel movements have still not gone back to normal after the "labor purge". How long did it take for you to start pooping normally again?

It was about 6 weeks for me, but I also had a second degree tear.

I was able to poop the same day I gave birth. You could try a stool softener if you continue to have the issue, the hospital I gave birth that prescribe me one just in case.

It took a couple weeks for me to be "regular" again. Although now at 5 months pp if I go too long between BMs or don't drink enough water, it's painful and I bleed. But I have one or two hemorrhoids.

I'm a 8 days postpartum and my poops have been back to normal I think at Day 5. But I haven't been taking my stool softeners like I probably should be because of my tailbone. I also had a vaginal delivery

I'm 7 weeks pp and I used to poo daily. Now I poo maybe every other day and it hurts and I usually bleed. Pretty sure I have a tear.

They gave me stool softeners daily in the hospital and when I got home I went straight to the bathroom and was regular ever since. I did take the softeners for about a week though.

Since giving birth, I only poop every 3-4 days and it's pretty painful. I'm 3 weeks PP. 🤷🏻‍♀️
