my son have sickle cell

My son have been diagnosed with sickle cell dad and I both have trait wish they would've told me ahead of time so I can prepare myself instead of waiting till he's here and already a few weeks I am nervous and scared quit school to be home with my baby while dad works we decided not to put him in daycare he needs special care one on one care and no one can't care for him like me. He takes meds twice a day I have to take his temperature when he feel warm and practice feeling for his spleen right now I hate that he will be in pain ugh
