adopting a baby of a different race

My wonderful husband and I have been truly blessed this past 13 months. We've been fostering a beautiful little African American baby girl from the age of 1. Our adoption hearing is coming up in just a month!
We are both white. Because of this we've received so much hate, from the check out line at the grocery store to neighbors saying that she should be raised by a black family. We love this little girl with all our hearts. We've watched her grow, she calls us mama and dada. We are her parents. But we are struggling to deal with the constant flow of comments.
Do you think it's wrong that we have decided to adopt our beautiful little girl? I'm wondering if the glow community supports it and maybe it's just where we live (a white community)
If you have experiences please share! We are considering moving to a more diverse community where our little family will be more accepted.
I have made this anonymous to prepare myself for nasty comments (I'm so used to them..) but please refrain from saying anything rude. We are adopting her regardless!! But I'm wondering if anyone has any advice to offer so she doesn't have to hear those comments growing up.
I have never loved anyone as much as I love my daughter. I just want to help her, to shield her from what we've been experiencing so that she grows up knowing she is loved and accepted.
