Gestational Hypertension
Hi Ladies. I just had another prenatal appointment, I am 28 weeks and 4 days today and was told I might have gestational hypertension. My blood pressure has always been in the higher 130's at the doctors office and 117-124 at home. At my last two appointments it was over 144 and today the first measurement was 155. I always attributed it to being more nervous and moving around a lot before having it taken. Usually I take off my shoes and coat, get on the scale, then put my shoes back on (all of course takes a lot of effort haha) so my first measurement it always a little higher. The last visit they took my blood pressure at the end and it was 133 (first measurement was 148) and today it was 141. The weird thing is, I measure my blood pressure every day at home and it's always 117-124 never higher than that so I am wondering if it's higher at the doctors because I am more nervous or is my machine not working properly? (My husband uses it too and there are times it shows high blood pressure for him plus it's a fairly expensive reliable machine so it shouldn't really malfunction this badly).
My midwife scheduled me for an appointment with a doctor next week and an ultrasound to make sure everything is ok. So far I have had no complications and have felt amazing! No headaches no dizziness no nausea (haven't thrown up once the whole pregnancy), still have a lot of energy and work full time. There are no concerns with the baby he is very active and his heart rate is always healthy.
Have any of you developed gestational hypertension in previous pregnancies and what was the outcome? Any tips or suggestions from personal experience or someone you know? Did you eventually develop preeclampsia or did your blood pressure get better? Did you have to be induced? These are all of the things that I am worried about so any info would be helpful.
