shorter period normal or not?

So my period usually lasts about 5 days give or take but last month it only lasted a few days, like 2 or 3.  I was sick with a virus so I wrote it off to that but this month I feel perfectly fine and it's more like a 3-4 days. Is this normal? Has this ever happened to you???? If so what was the result?
