stopping progesterone???

Question

I was prescribed 200mg progesterone suppositories at 6 weeks to take only for 2 weeks until I'm 8 weeks. I believe he prescribed it due to a cyst that was causing discomfort. Is it ok to just stop at 8 weeks? I've read horror stories about miscarriages with this?? My progesterone level a week ago was 29.2.

I'm nervous about stopping cold turkey and any effect it may have. :/

I took it til 14 weeks then stopped cold turkey. I was scared too, but nothing bad happened. Went on to have a healthy baby boy

Progesterone supplements prevent miscarriage. By the time you reach 12 weeks your placenta is developed and makes so much progesterone that the supplement is so small in comparison to what you are already getting. I stopped mine cold turkey with no issues at all, she was born 6 months ago.

I was prescribed 100mg and took for 5 weeks or so until I was almost 10 weeks. I stopped cold turkey. I'm 12 weeks now. I've read some women may experience light spotting. Since you're taking it for a cyst and haven't taken it for very long, I don't think it would be a problem. I'd trust your doctor. Good luck!
