preeclampsia is no joke!

Lesley
I'm 35w1d today and on Friday I was officially diagnosed with preeclampsia.  I had been on 'watch' for it for about 2 weeks prior (protein in my urine, but no other symptoms).  But this past week, I started to get the elevated BP & extremely bad swelling along with the protein.  So at just over 34 weeks, I was put on bed rest and referred to a new Dr because mine doesn't perform c-sections.
I saw the new Dr for the first time on Friday and I was told that the goal is to get me to 37 weeks.  In the mean time, I now have to go to the hospital for 2 non-stress tests a week plus a Dr appt with an ultrasound.  Thankfully the hospital & Dr office are only about 12 mins away.  And thankfully I have Drs that's are very proactive and are taking the steps to make sure myself and my daughter will be ok!
If I make it to 37 weeks (which happens to be the day of my baby shower), we try to induce.  If that doesn't work, we schedule a c-section. BUT if my symptoms get worse or my daughter shows signs of distress or is non-reactive during a non-stress test, then it's c-section right away.
So in essence, my daughter will be here any day now.  It all depends on how I'm feeling.
