We have divided the financial responsibilities like each of us pays for  certain bills. He usually pays when we go out but I don't mind taking care of restaurant tabs.

We've be together for 11 years so both of us pay. We have separate accounts but share our money (if that makes sense.) We are only 24 and not married yet so we keep things separate. We share paying for everything. He pays rent and some utilities and I pay for groceries and the other utilities. Mostly its who wanted to go out pays. We are both home bodies (me way more than him.) So if he forces me out of the house he pays lol.

My boyfriend paid for our first few dates and he pays for special dates like my birthday or Valentine's or when we're celebrating something in my life. But I pay about 50% of the time. We never split the check though for some more expensive dates we pay our own way since we're both rather broke students. We don't keep track though so I can't really say who pays more often.
