So I'm a first grade teacher and I'm currently 7 weeks pregnant. My boss and many of my coworkers know because I've been really sick and I've needed their support. My principal asked me not to say anything to parents for fear that they might think they are losing another teacher (teacher turnover has not been great). But my kids obviously can tell I'm sick a lot and even one of my parents asked me today if I was pregnant. So I guess my question or need for advice is, when should I tell my students and parents? Should I wait until after the first trimester? Should I discuss this with my principal? I don't know what to do.
