How do you feel about it?

Question

What's your thoughts on formula and breastfeeding? 
Do you chose formula over breastfeeding or breastfeeding over formula? Why do you chose what you chose? Moms are looked down upon if you chose to formula feed over breastfeed...why? I think it would be okay but everyone is making me feel bad for possibly wanting to formula feed. 
Am I still going to have that bond and closeness if I didn't breastfeed?
Anyways... what's your thoughts and opinions on it?

Note: to each their own, I'm NOT judging! Just sharing info. 
The bonding thing aside, there is a legitimate upside to breastfeeding in that you pass on antibodies to your baby that they cannot get any other way. This gives them an immune boost when their system is otherwise insanely delicate and vulnerable. 
For that reason, alone, I'm a proponent of BFing. 
Personally, I'm excited to BF if I'm able. 
I also understand that there are a million reasons women cant or don't and id never assume NOT BFing means a lack of love. That's just silly.

I breastfed for 4 months and couldn't take it anymore. It contributed to my PPD and as soon as I stopped a weight was lifted off my shoulders. My baby is completely healthy. Might add that myself and all my siblings were strictly formula fed and are completely healthy. Feed your babies how you want. Breast or formula! Just feed them!

Fed is best. That's my thoughts. I won't judge another woman on how she feeds her child (as long as it's the healthy right way. I.e a 3mon old eating solids

I am choosing to formula feed my baby. I've gone back and forth on it only because so many people try to pressure you into breastfeeding. I already knew deep in my heart I only wanted to formula fees though but everyone questioning all the time made me feel like I almost had too. I finally decided this is my baby and I will do what I feel is right. Breastfeeding isn't for everyone and I'm one of those people. Many woman are okay with breastfeeding in public and I am not shaming anyone who does at all. But I am not comfortable being in public and needing to pull my boob out. It makes me feel weird and honestly I'd rather do what will make me comfortable and all that matter is that my baby is being fed. If I am doing that then I feel as though no one should judge me or have a say.

I chose to breastfeed. Partly because I wanted to for the bonding and health benefits but also cos it's free! I breastfed til 6m and now am spending  £50 a month on formula! Can't wait to get it back.

I think what works for me doesn't work for others and as long as baby is fed that's all that matters. I personally choose breastfeeding I like the bond but my second I couldn't breastfeed so she was formula fed and both my kids r smart as anything. Do what works best for you.

I plan to breastfeed while at home with our son as long as I can do it. I know a lot of women can't. I'm fine with formula as well. I just like that breast milk is free & it helps lose some of the baby weight!

I have always been different. I am not a domestic housewife ( i loved working and worked until my due date with both my previous pregnancies), im not good at most of the "feminine " type things that ppl assume women should be good at. And i also have a different mindset on parenting. When i was pregnant with my first child (now 6 years old) i told everyone i wanted to be induced at 40 weeks because i did not want to be preggo any longer than i had to be. I also insisted that prior to my son being placed on me immediately after delivering that i wanted him to be cleaned off (not a full on bath but get the chunks off at least). My MIL at the time swore up and down that when he was born I would feel differently....umm no i did not. They did not wipe him off and just laid him on me. Honestly not to sound cold but it was nasty. I turned my head and begged them to please clean him off. I was the same way with my second son. I also was very anxious abt the idea of breastfeeding. Heres the thing, i find nothing appealing abt being a human pacifier. Also i do not find it cute when babies (and toddlers) grab their mothers (or other womens breast) or reach in their shirts. I also am very conservative and have no interest in attempting to conceal myself while also trying pull a boob out to feed a child. I do however understand the benefits of breastfeeding and due to both my sons have their tongues tied when they were born and requiring to be clipped they could not latch on properly any way. So i chose to pump and supplement with formula. I did this for 3 momths with my first and 6 weeks with my second (i was working full time and in school after my second was born). It was definitely more comfortable for me to be able to take my pump into a private area and pump rather than have a screaming baby and trying to force my boob in their mouth...
